Providence, RI - On October 26th, the Providence Journal reported that Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea has been delaying the release of RI voter database information. In an apparently unilateral move, the Secretary of State’s office has decided to depart from the long standing practice of including voters’ full dates of birth in the voter information files. The Secretary instead proposes supplying only voters’ birth years.
Group of House Republicans Condemn Attorney General’s Lack of Transparency Decry Unprofessional, Opaque Treatment of Requests Demand Reform for More Open State Government
Providence, RI - House Republican leaders are denouncing Attorney General Peter Kilmartin and his staff for their lack of transparency surrounding the 2012 Google Settlement documents. The group of representatives includes Leader Patricia Morgan, Senior Deputy Leader Anthony Giarrusso, and Representatives Sherry Roberts, Bob Quattrocchi, Justin Price, and Ken Mendonça. The representatives are condemning the actions of the Attorney General’s office in their handling of the release of the Google Settlement documents.

The representatives are renewing their calls for a study commission in light of Deepwater Wind’s recent announcement of plans to expand the offshore wind farm off the Rhode Island coast.

State House, Providence, RI - Representative Sherry Roberts (R-District 29 West Greenwich/Coventry) has expressed her frustration with Governor Gina Raimondo’s State of the State address held last Tuesday January 16th. Governor Raimondo touted Coventry High School’s Jobs Guarantee Program with Electric Boat as her own economic development initiative. However, it was Representative Roberts who envisioned this program, and then took the necessary steps to convene the stakeholders- seeing the project to fruition –months before Governor Raimondo endorsed it during an event at the Coventry High School.
