Michael W. Chippendale has served the residents of District 40, Coventry, Foster and Glocester, since being elected in November 2010.
"Civil Service is in my blood..." says Chippendale. "I truly love working for the betterment of our communities and our state. Whether I'm coaching a team full of eager youth baseball players, participating in our community's 'restorative justice system' with the Juvenile Hearing Board, or working with fellow parishioners on making our community better able to serve those in need, I always want to be adding 'value' to the lives of the people I represent."
In his capacity as a Representative, Chippendale serves as a member of the House Oversight Committee and the House Corporations Committee.
Before being elected, Chippendale's civil service included roles as a Religious Education Instructor and Lector at St. Paul the Apostle Church. For the past 17 seasons, Chippendale has been a youth baseball coach in Scituate/Foster and Glocester, an annual volunteer with Cub Scout Pack 101 Foster, served for 16 years as a board member of the Foster/Glocester Juvenile Hearing Board and is a member of the Highland Rod and Gun Sportsman Club.
Representative Chippendale graduated from Johnston High School, studied at CCRI, and received an associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Design from New England Institute of Technology in 1989. He obtained a degree in Business Management from Johnson & Wales University in 2005.
Representative Chippendale is a self-employed real estate investor and the former owner of 2 RI manufacturing businesses. Born in April of 1969, he has resided in Foster for the past 18 years with his wife Sherri and two children, Paige and Séighín.
