Providence, RI - On October 26th, the Providence Journal reported that Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea has been delaying the release of RI voter database information. In an apparently unilateral move, the Secretary of State’s office has decided to depart from the long standing practice of including voters’ full dates of birth in the voter information files. The Secretary instead proposes supplying only voters’ birth years.

Providence, RI - House Republican leaders are denouncing Attorney General Peter Kilmartin and his staff for their lack of transparency surrounding the 2012 Google Settlement documents. The group of representatives includes Leader Patricia Morgan, Senior Deputy Leader Anthony Giarrusso, and Representatives Sherry Roberts, Bob Quattrocchi, Justin Price, and Ken Mendonça. The representatives are condemning the actions of the Attorney General’s office in their handling of the release of the Google Settlement documents.

Providence, RI - House Republicans are calling for a commission to study the effects of wind turbines on marine life in Rhode Island. Representatives Sherry Roberts, Justin Price, and Robert Nardolillo are urging fellow lawmakers to support the initiative. The representatives are renewing their calls for a study commission in light of Deepwater Wind’s recent announcement of plans to expand the offshore wind farm off the Rhode Island coast.

Local fishermen are challenged with the daunting task of complying with a number of minor regulations that, if violated, can lead to debilitating penalties. The bill, also sponsored by Rep. Robert A. Nardolillo, will help ensure a fair environment for these small businesses.
