STATE HOUSE - State Rep. Doreen Costa (R-Dist. 32, North Kingstown, Exeter) has been appointed to serve on the House Judiciary and Veterans' Committees for the 2013-2014 legislative session.
The Committee on Judiciary is responsible for legislation affecting the penal code, judicial system, ethics, opening meetings access to pubic records and election laws. The Veteran’s Affairs Committee deals with matters affecting veterans ranging from education to job development.
“Representative Costa’s energy and hard work during her first term established her as someone focused on getting things done. These are both attributes that will serve her committees well moving forward,” said Minority Leader Brian C. Newberry. Representative Costa was first elected to the General Assembly in 2009, and is beginning her second term in the House of Representatives. -30-
