Leader Michael Chippendale joins Gene Valicenti to discuss the low and moderate income housing proposals being presented by advocacy groups to the House Commission along with the large monetary allocations associated with these efforts.
"To assert institutional racism in our cities and towns and not admit that a portion of our homeless are trapped due to addiction disorder, mental health issues that go untreated, etc., is a huge disservice. And to ignore that 46% of the homeless population have zero income-- that alone tells us that most of these folks aren't well enough to seek available services or attain jobs. To have these omissions in their presentations is not policy work."
