Providence, RI - State Representative Robert Nardolillo III (R District 28 – Coventry) is proud to be working with his fellow legislators to cosponsor a bill to offer easier access to small business loans to veterans returning to the civilian workforce.
House bill 7058 directs the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation to establish a program offering loans up to $50,000 for military personnel returning to the civilian market from active duty. According to the federal government there are upwards of 65,000 veterans living in Rhode Island. This legislation would offer those transitioning out of the military a reason to stay in Rhode Island while also spurring the economy forward.
“I’m always happy be a part of legislation that improves the lives of veterans in our state. This bill offers the men and women who have risked their lives to defend us a path to owning their own businesses here in the state of Rhode Island. It will provide a boost to our economy and allow us to ‘thank you for their service’,” stated Rep. Nardolillo.
